Pigment Storage

This is how I store my pigments. It was really hard for me to find craft containers with separated compartments that fit my pigments, so one day I decided to store them temporarily in a shoebox lid. I never ended up moving them and it got full, but at least it works! And luckily it fit the pigments in snuggly so they don't roll around. I don't plan to move my pigments around or else it'd get messy. They sit nicely in my drawer and I pull them out when I need them :)

My pigments arrived from The Body Needs! Some of you were asking about their shipping, and I think their turn around time was pretty fast. I ordered on Aug 23 and it got shipped out on Aug 26. I probably would've received it on Monday if it wasn't a holiday. Cheryl, the owner of The Body Needs, even included a free pigment sample with my order :) I'm pretty satisfied with my order except for one thing... The pigments in the jars seem like a really tiny amount... I don't know if that's truly a 1/4 tsp amount. Maybe it is and maybe all the other pigment samples I get from swapping just come with a really generous amount. Shrugs. Anywho, the Overrich pigments are GORGEOUS. I'd say go and buy the samples for these since if you get a whole jar at the MAC store, they only come with 4.3g of product for the same price of $19.50! Rip off!

CCO!

I went to Davis the other day to visit a few friends for their house party and on the way back to SF, we stopped by the CCO in Vacaville! It was the first time I've ever gone to a CCO. I've been to outlets before, but I can never find the CCO store! We only had about 20 minutes to pick out what we wanted though, but it was really exciting! Hahaha. They had paint pots, pigments, eye shadows, blushes, tendertones, mineralize satinfinish foundation, sculpt & shape, fix+, palettes from novel twist, and some lip sets from the finery collection.

I got some thangs cuz you know I couldn't resist! :)







By the way, the Comedy Jam was awesome!!! BUT Russell Peters wasn't there!!!!!!! I don't know what happened... maybe he canceled? But I know for a fact that when I bought the tickets, his name was up there as one of the performing comedians. The radio even said it a million times! I really wanted to see him :( The other comedians were funny too so I guess it wasn't a total waste of money since the only reason I bought the tickets was to see him. Anywho, Edwin San Juan is really funny. Look him up if you get a chance!

Last TSS Swatches! Sorry I haven't been reading blogs lately! I'm so busy with work! I'll definitely catch up after I get off work today!

TSS 3 out of 4

I'm SO proud of myself for not buying any MAC makeup even with the 15% off discount! LOL you don't understand what a milestone this is. I probably would've already bought stuff off of Cherry Culture with their sale going on, but they don't have the two things that I want the most: NYX round lippies in Louisiana & Fusion. They've been out of stock for like the past month or something.

Anywho, here are more TSS Swatches. The browns are a little hard to see cuz they almost match my skin tone!

TSS Swatches Part 2 out of 4

I loooooove all of these colors! Especially Acidic Reign & Swim With the Fishes! TSS makes really unique blues and greens in my opinion. I love the shimmer that these have! In the bags, they all look like very shimmery, but Pushing Daisies, Cursed With Charisma, Toast the Traitor, and My Blue Heaven are all velvets and come on more matte when you apply them. They still have some shimmer to them, but not as much as the other ones because these are velvets.

The She Space Swatches PART 1!

I got my sample pigments from The She Space! It took them about a week to ship since they've been remodeling for the past few weeks or so. They have amazing customer service though! Anywho, I will be doing the swatches in separate posts since there are about 35 swatches to do... I LOVE how the shimmery ones look and I'm so tempted to buy the full size, but I don't think it's worth it! :( It's $4 for a full 3 gram jar, but I think a 3 gram jar only fits like 1/2 tsp, which I don't think is worth $4. They do have amazing colors though! And when I say amazing, I MEAN AMAZING! I choose these over MAC's pigments. It's tempting, very tempting! So you might think that the baggies don't come with a lot if the full size jars only contain 1/2 tsp, but I think the baggies might last quite a while since you really only need to use a little bit. I prefer their shimmer ones over their velvet pearl ones since the velvet pearl ones are more matte. They have great color payoff, but I just like the shimmer :D

Anywho, here are the first swatches. There will be four posts in total. These were swatched without a base. Some were swatched wet and some were swatched dry depending on the color pay off.

Simply Naturals Haul!

Yay I got my Simply Naturals pigments!

Let me just say that I am VERY satisfied with these pigments. They are really really pigmented and very affordable. They're only $1.85 for a full 5g jar. I bought these from their ebay store like Christiana suggested because the shipping is waaaaay cheaper over there. You can find their store on ebay HERE.

On their website, wine looks more like a dark burgundy red, but it's actually a purple!



EDIT
I've found that using Wine with a mixing medium stains my lids... Using it with water however didn't seem to. Both methods stained my brush though.
