finals week

It's finals week, but instead of studying like I should be doing, I painted my nails. Honestly I had no idea what I was doing.. Haha. I started off with hearts but decided that was too plain so I drew some black lines. Do you guys think this is appropriate for the hospital? I'm volunteering there tomorrow. I guess I'll have a small talk starter with the patients.

All of my packages from Black Friday finally arrived. I went mad online shopping cuz I couldn't deal with humans in the mall. I got five packages total.. There's some things I have to return but for the most part I'm satisfied :)

I just ordered the Urban Decay 24/7 Super Stash since I had a $15 giftcard for being a beauty insider. I need new eyeliner anyway. I was debating between that or fluidline since I'm running out, but I really wanted all the different colors in the kit. I still think I'm gonna get fluidline when I run out though because pencil usually smudges on me by the end of the day, but fluidline stays put.

I can't wait for my last final to be overrrrrrr and done with. Wish me luck :\

Nail polish

China Glaze - Rich & Famous

Reminds me of barbie & it's perfect for the Spring.

I wore this in class and didn't realize how bright it was until I pointed to something on my notebook page for a guy to read haha.

Nails!

My attempt to do my own nails since I don't have time to get my nails done, lol. I just hope they don't chip anytime soon (like tomorrow). I used China Glaze Heaven all over my nails and I painted the designs with the thin brushed polishes.

Sorry I've been MIA. I made a personal blog that I've been posting in more often lately. I had a great 4th of July. Spent it with my family. It was also my cousin's birthday. Hope you all had a good & safe holiday.

Innocence

A swatch of China Glaze Innocence. It's a very sheer manicure pink. I painted on about 3 coats and it has a cream like consistency. I didn't really like it much when my nails started growing out though because you can see the tips underneath the coats of polish.. But it is a great manicure color.

I really want to get Agent Lavender and White Kwik Silver, but they can only be found online and the shipping rates are kinda outrageous :(

Attempt at Nail Art & BB Cream Suggestions?

My nail art attempt at doing flowers:

I took it off right after though because the baby blue was brighter than I expected and it just looked way too 12 year old girly for my taste... Plus I don't know how my boss would feel about my nails while I'm giving interviews haha. I do like the flowers though. Maybe next time I'll just do it on one finger instead of all of them.

Does anyone know of any good BB creams? Or where I can get samples? I'm an NC30 in MAC for reference. I think I want to give BB creams a try cuz I'm sick of putting on foundation everyday. Foundation just feels too heavy on some days and I don't like having a cake face. I want to use something that'll actually help my even out my skin tone in the long run.

Unplugged

Unplugged is part of the China Glaze Spring Break 2008 ECollection. I have 2 coats painted on. It's a rich chocolate brown with shimmer. I actually like this color more than I thought I would because it's dark, but not too dark. I bought this as part of the buy 2 get 1 free nail polish sale that's going on for the month of April at Sally's. It's still going on, so go get some!!

On another happy note, I finished writing my scholarship essay! WHOOOOT :) It's a scholarship that my work is giving out for college students and current high school seniors. Hopefully I get it! I won't know until 2 weeks from now, but I'm excited that I finally finished the damn thing!

China Glaze: Flying Dragon

China Glaze Flying Dragon. Two coats with a top coat. I normally don't use a top coat, but with this polish, once it dries on your nails, it dries very dull. The glitter doesn't sparkle at all. I guess maybe it has to do with the idea that this polish is a neon and mixing it with glitter leaves it with a dull finish. A top coat fixes that problem though so that way you can still have shiny nails. If you don't have a top coat, clear nail polish works too.

More ChG

I made use of the sale Sally's is having on nail polish. Buy 2 get 1 free on ALL nail polish. With my Sally's card, the China Glaze polishes came out to $3.25 each. With the buy 2 get 1 free discount, they came out to $2.17 each. The Stripe polishes were 2.99 each with the Sally's card and came out to 1.99 each. Good deal, right?

A close up of Flying Dragon since it looks a little different here than it does in the first picture. It has blue and red glitter and this is a more accurate picture of the polish colorwise.

A very bright teal color.

Some quick and dirty swatches. More is on the way once I have a chance to paint my nails.

Nails

Sacred Heart (neon) and Lubu Heels

I finally made use of my Sally's $5 coupon and picked up some more China Glaze nail polishes before the month of March was over. There are a few more I want to get, but they don't carry the colors in the store so I might have to get them online. The only thing I don't like about getting them online is the shipping fee.

2 coats on Sacred Heart (top)
3 coats on Lubu Heels (bottom)

Sally's is having a buy 2 get 1 free on all nailpolishes this month so of course I'm going to stop by later today. I'm thinking of having a nail art contest, so maybe that'll be the prize.

Ruby Pumps

A swatch of China Glaze Ruby Pumps. It's a really pretty color. I can't help but stare at my nails when I'm driving... which isn't as bad as me texting while I'm driving. Isn't it funny how they outlawed talking on your cellphone before texting on your cellphone? I mean I'm the ultimate PRO when it comes to texting and driving, but it requires way more effort than talking on the phone and driving.. Anywayyy, enjoy :)

2 coats

<3333

Had to go buy more. China Glaze is like crack. Or Pringles. Once you pop, you can't stop. I'm probably gonna stop by Sally's again soon since it's March now and I can use my $5 coupon that I got last month. MORE crack bottles!

More China Glaze swatches

Aren't they purrrrrdy?
Ruby pumps is goooorrrgeous! The second picture shows the color the best. It makes me nails sparkle in the light. Pictures don't do it justice!

China Glaze

I gave in to buying myself some China Glaze nail polish after seeing Alyssa's swatches. I got them at Sally's for $3.25 with the Sally's beauty card. Otherwise they'd cost $5.99 regularly. The card costs $5 and you get a membership for a whole year. The membership pretty much pays for itself though because after you sign up, you get a coupon worth $5 to spend on the next month. It's worth it if you ask me because even when you go to Walgreens to get nail polish, the polishes are already $4-5 a bottle and China Glaze has EXCELLENT quality nail polish.

heaven and camisole are both shimmers and innocence is a cream. you can't really see the sparkle in heaven, but it's a really pretty color.

Paw prints!!! <3

I present to yooooouuuuu...

The cutest nails I've ever done :D :D :D
I got the idea from Alyssa since she gave a great tutorial on how to do paw prints! It was very easy and it's so incredibly cute! I was only going to put paw prints on my thumb nails, but I couldn't resist!

I can't wait until prom rolls around. I'd love to do makeup and nails on the younger interns that I work with :D

More nails

I decided to play with some of the things that Alyssa got me.

I used the Nic's Stick and surprisingly, it wasn't messy at all. I thought it would be because the brush tip is pretty wide, but while I was painting my nails, I didn't get any on the sides of my fingers at all. The brush slightly went over the sides of my fingers, but it never deposited color there which I thought was just a coincidence until none my fingers were messy :D Is it just me? Lol. Anywho, I did the same design as my last nail design, but I added black tips.

Enjoy :)

Thank you Alyssa!!!! :)

GUESS what I got in the mail today????

OH YES baby!
My prize from Alyssa's contest! She also added some extras! Isn't that sweet? Now I can do some professional nail art! lol. I'm going to do my nails tonight and I'll post some pictures up soon!

Thanks again Alyssa!! I loooooooooove my prize :)

lemmings!

Besides all the bath scrubs that I've been drooling over lately thanks to Nanzy, I've been drooling over these nail polishes too.

Sampler $34
I love the yellow in the set. It's gorgeous!

Each nail polish $18
They're named after Spongebob Squarepants! Isn't that cute? The price is STEEEEEEP though for just a bottle of nail polish!

Nail contest

Alyssa's having a nail contest and I thought I'd give it a try. I wanted to paint french tips on my nails, but they aren't long enough yet so I attempted to do some nail art with rasta colors and I used pigments!!! It was the first time I tried mixing pigments into my nail polish and it works wonders!!! The red color is Simply Natural's razzmatazz, the yellow is MAC's true chartreuse, and the green is MAC's golden olive. It only takes a relatively small amount of pigment to mix in.

Nails!

I stopped by Daiso yesterday with a friend. It's a Japanese dollar store and I bought a few nail things since I wanted to give prettifying my nails a try lol. Everything was $1.50 each except the 3 5g sample jars came together (so I guess it's not really a dollar store... well everything used to be $1, but I guess they had to raise their prices because of inflation and all). I'm really pleased with everything I got cuz I KNOW it'd all cost more than $1.50 each if I got them at other places.

Anywho, here's my first attempt at putting decorations on my nails. It took FOREVER to get those suckers on! I hope they don't fall off anytime soon... haha

By the way, I start school tomorrow! It's a yay/boo relationship. The only thing I hate about the first few days of school is that there's NO PARKING whatsoever! Lol. Towards the end of the semester, the parking lots clear up so much cuz everyone starts dropping their classes.
