Hope everyone had a good holiday! I got the best Christmas present ever---A JOB! I just have to pass a drug test (WISH ME LUCK). I've been drinking cranberry juice and working out nonstop. Don't get me wrong, I don't do drugs. The last time I smoked was about two weeks ago and unfortunately that could stay in my body for 30 days. I read online that it usually stays for 10 days if you're an occasional smoker, which I am.

My Urban Decay 24/7 Super Stash eyeliners came in the mail! I was skeptical of their staying power because they glide on so creamy and effortlessly, but they hold up pretty well. I wore them to the gym and they didn't budge after my sweaty workout.

finals week

It's finals week, but instead of studying like I should be doing, I painted my nails. Honestly I had no idea what I was doing.. Haha. I started off with hearts but decided that was too plain so I drew some black lines. Do you guys think this is appropriate for the hospital? I'm volunteering there tomorrow. I guess I'll have a small talk starter with the patients.

All of my packages from Black Friday finally arrived. I went mad online shopping cuz I couldn't deal with humans in the mall. I got five packages total.. There's some things I have to return but for the most part I'm satisfied :)

I just ordered the Urban Decay 24/7 Super Stash since I had a $15 giftcard for being a beauty insider. I need new eyeliner anyway. I was debating between that or fluidline since I'm running out, but I really wanted all the different colors in the kit. I still think I'm gonna get fluidline when I run out though because pencil usually smudges on me by the end of the day, but fluidline stays put.

I can't wait for my last final to be overrrrrrr and done with. Wish me luck :\

PROS: None at all.

CONS: The brush head is way too flimsy and there aren't enough bristles to keep it dense. It's impossible to draw a straight line.

OVERALL: Don't waste your money on this. I ordered this on ebay because the idea of a bent eyeliner brush interested me. I'm sure there are better bent eyeliner brushes out there (Just don't buy this one!)

School just started and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed since I'm still working my summer hours at my job minus the time I'm at school. I don't have much time to do homework or study, but my job is ending soon. Hopefully I can find another one because I don't know if I will qualify for unemployment. I mean, I will because I'm kind of being laid off, but since the economy is in the shits, I don't know if they will give it to me since I'm not in dire need of it. Not as bad as others might who actually have big bills to pay at least.

I finally hit pan on my MAC Era eye shadow. My first time on any eye shadow actually. I use this one almost everyday for a neutral look for work. I kinda panicked a little when I saw a hole forming in the bottom of the pan, but I think it still has a long way to go before I need to pick up a replacement.

So sorry! I've been busy up the yin yang. My aunt, uncle, & cousins are visiting from Philadelphia today so I'm being kicked out of my room.. Lol.

I went to Target yesterday with my bff. I picked up some Palmer's cocoa butter for some stretch marks I have... I hope it works. Why do they have to have a picture of a pregnant lady on the bottle? That just makes me feel bad lol. I also picked up some sunscreen for the face because I've recently learned that my cheeks burn REAL fast.. and I got some more face wipes because they're awesome. Only $3.34 for a pack of 30.

I just bought a new iPhone case since the one I bought from the apple store is PEELING already! I've only had it for 5 days!! I'm going to return that one. This is the one I bought. I got it here. BLING!

Back from my camping trip! It was GREAT! Bonded with the interns, some old and some new. We went hiking, played a lot of games, and got to check out an observatory. I learned how to focus a telescope and we got to see Saturn, Leo the lion, the big dipper, Vega, & some binary stars. It was absolutely beautiful up there. The sky was so clear and I even saw a shooting star! We also went up to a ropes course. I climbed up a tree and walked off a platform on the zipline!!! It was amazing. It felt like I was free falling, lol.

Here's me getting my car wash after the trip, lol. I took the picture on my new iPhone!!!!!!! (Which I LOVEEEE!) I don't know why I hated the iPhone so much before cuz it's freakin AWESOME. I paid $399 for it though cuz I was only eligible for an "early upgrade" which doesn't mean shit! I was gonna add a line to my individual plan, but then it would turn into a family plan which would cost more... Even if it was only an extra $10/month for another line, it still comes out to $240 over the next 2 years as opposed to paying the extra $200 for the phone right now.

I also finally got an email about my pre-order for Sigma Brushes, so I purchased them. Can't wait for them to arrive!! Yeeee!

OMG, Tao is such an enabler. I couldn't resist ordering pigments from TKB Trading after seeing swatches on her blog. I don't even use pigments all that much, but the swatches are amazing! I also ordered some ELF studio brushes since I thought "what the heck, I might as well put in this order too since I'm already ordering other things." And I have been working NONSTOP, so I deserve to give myself presents, haha. But seriously, I've been working like crazy. I worked overtime yesterday. At least that equals more $$, but I'm so tired and GRUMPY after work!

I'm going camping tomorrow with the interns! I'm actually really excited now. I wasn't so excited yesterday, but it has finally hit me that it's tomorrow! I haven't even started packing yet... I think I'm going to pack tomorrow morning since we leave in the afternoon.

On another note, I placed an order for 20 5g jars from Rainbow Minerals & More about a month and a half ago, and I haven't received my order. I've emailed them NUMEROUS times too on two different email addresses that they have, but no response... So I filed a paypal claim against them. It just sucks cuz I was waiting on those jars, so I could send Mayaari some samples and now they're super delayed. If anyone's thinking of buying from them, DON'T! There's an ebay store with the same name, but I don't know for sure if it's the same person...

A swatch of China Glaze Innocence. It's a very sheer manicure pink. I painted on about 3 coats and it has a cream like consistency. I didn't really like it much when my nails started growing out though because you can see the tips underneath the coats of polish.. But it is a great manicure color.

I really want to get Agent Lavender and White Kwik Silver, but they can only be found online and the shipping rates are kinda outrageous :(

Outlet shopping with the BFF

I went outlet shopping with my best friend the other day in Vacaville. We stopped by the Cosmetics Company outlet.. The MAC things they had were 1N lipstick, vanity child, lipstick, a few creme sheen lipsticks, a few lipsticks from the stylistics collection, a few eye shadows from the moon bathe collection, some eyeshadow duos (the rectangular shaped ones), one mineralize eye shadow that was navy, bronze, and dark brown colored, some holiday lipstick sets and eyeshadow sets from christmas, and I can't remember what else. They didn't have much eye shadows but a lot of lipglosses and lipsticks.

I ended up walking out with no MAC :( Lol. I resisted because nothing really caught my eye.

I did end up buying a Coach bag. Total spontaneous buy. I think it was super cheap, so I couldn't pass up the deal. It was $169 with a 10% discount since they were handing out 10% flyers to people when you enter the store... so my bag was $152+tax. Not bad since it retailed for $388 or something like that.

I told the boyfriend that my best friend bought it for me for my birthday, so he wouldn't get mad that I spent money. (Hehe) I bought him some new running shoes from the Nike outlet, but he wants me to return them cuz he said they cost too much. I didn't think so at the time, lol. He wants me to save up for my birthday trip to Vegas.

I need ideas on what to get my dad for Father's Day! I have no clue! My last resort is to paint him a cup at Color Me Mine... lol

Bauble Bath Haul

This is a haul I got in the mail a few weeks ago. Honestly, I'm not too happy with Bauble Bath. I ordered the body scrub sampler which came with 5 one oz sample scrubs and I also ordered the bauble surprise made up of some samples and some full size products. Mine came with bath bombs, mini bath bomb, soaps, bath melts, a full size sugar scrub, shea butter, and pistachio butter.

Honestly, I feel like a lot of the scents I received were reject scents. The ones that people don't order so they have a lot of leftovers and let me tell you, I don't like about 85% of the scents that I received. I also got things like soap that I didn't even know they sell because it's not on the website... I also got two, three of the same scents in the same things (like 3 of the same bath bombs). I know it's a sampler and they can virtually put whatever they want in them, but isn't the whole point of a sampler to try different scents? Not 3 of the same thing?

Anyway, moving on to the products themselves. The sugar scrubs are true SUGAR scrubs. Nothing but sugar. They were a bit dry when I opened them and I was hoping for a more creamy/foaming sugar scrub. Not exactly what I was expecting.. I use them on my face occasionally as a face scrub because these scrubs are sugar and only sugar.. I could've made this myself! lol

The bath bombs lose their scent once they hit the water (thank god in this case, since I don't really like the scents I got but am going to use them anyway cuz I paid for them). This is my first time using a bath fizz, and I was really disappointed. There wasn't much fizz either.

Pigment Storage

This is how I store my pigments. It was really hard for me to find craft containers with separated compartments that fit my pigments, so one day I decided to store them temporarily in a shoebox lid. I never ended up moving them and it got full, but at least it works! And luckily it fit the pigments in snuggly so they don't roll around. I don't plan to move my pigments around or else it'd get messy. They sit nicely in my drawer and I pull them out when I need them :)

The face wipes--THE SHIT. My cleanser doesn't take off all my makeup, so I'm always paranoid about whether or not I'm going to sleep with makeup on.. Because if I take the time to wash my face, then I might as well get it right. I don't want to go to bed with makeup on after washing it. These wipes don't dry out my face and they take off mascara and liner. Plus I think they were only $3-4 for a pack of 30.

I was looking for Sonia Kashuk brushes when I noticed a line of brushes called Studio Tools (the black handled brushes). The eye brushes cost like $2.49! CHEAP, no? The ones I got are made with natural bristles. I made sure that they were soft before I bought them, lol. I think they're a pretty good deal especially if you just want to try new brushes.

I also got Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara. I guess I'm satisfied with it. It has this weird rose perfume scent though which I really don't like... but the smell goes away after you put it on... Is anyone else's bottle scented?

Small MAC Haul

I decided to check out the Style Warrior collection that just came out so I stopped by my local MAC counter. Sadly, they didn't have testers of vibrant grape or bright future, so I didn't get them. They were completely sold out of bright future and only had a few left of vibrant grape. It looked similar to Simply Natural's wine pigment and it looks like it could be duped from the 88 palette... The yellow was stunning though. A few MAC associates were wearing bright future and vibrant grape and it looked amazing.

I also picked up my second 217 brush cuz I FRIGGIN love it to death! I wanted to have one for my house and one for the boyfriend's house so I wouldn't have to move it back and forth. It's a costly little brush, but so worth it! I think this and the 187 brush are my favorites from MAC. Definitely worth getting one, two... or three ;)

I know they don't show up well here, but they are gorgeous subtle colors.

I also pre-ordered the complete brush kit from Sigma Makeup. It comes with 12 brushes for $64 + $7 shipping which comes out to about $6/brush. Good deal, no? They got pretty good reviews and they're comparable to MAC brushes. Even the names of the brushes are the same... So I figured, what the hell, I might as well try them out being the huge brush freak that I am. Plus they aren't even that expensive if you do the math. The only real drawback is that they won't be in stock until July because all the ones in stock for May & June have already been pre-ordered. Oh well, I can wait. Whoop! :)

88 Matte Palette

I think I might be the last person on earth to get this palette, but I finally did! I bought mine from an ebay seller for $20 total including shipping. CLICK HERE for the ebay store. It took about 3 weeks for it to come because it had to go through customs from Asia. The seller shipped it out a day after I bought though so they definitely did their part. It also came nicely packaged in bubble wrap and none of the eye shadows were broken. The seller also sells the neutral palette from Coastal Scents for cheaper. I'd highly recommend them.

The eyeshadows get a bit chalky after swipes, but it's no big deal because it doesn't get that messy.

Some colors are more pigmented than others, but this is a great palette to have if you're iffy on buying colors you don't use on a daily basis. I've always wanted hot pink and red eye shadows, but I could never justify shelling out the money for them if I wasn't going to use them all the time.

Lipstick Storage

WTF, Grey's Anatomy season finale ending. SERIOUSLY?! How could they end it like THAAAAAT? Do we really have to wait until the new season starts to find out what happens? BLEH.

ANYWAY,

I made this about a year ago, and I don't know why it never occurred to me to show it off. I got the idea from a Specktra user. It's a cheap, easy, and not to mention eco-friendly way to store your lipsticks. I just cut MAC lipstick boxes in half and taped them together to make a little lipstick rack. I made one for my lipglosses too out of MAC lipgloss boxes. It's really simple and it's easier for me to keep track of my lipsticks without having to dump them in a drawer somewhere.

This is what the bottom looks like--all taped up to make sure it's stays sturdy.

NYX Jumbo Pencils, finally!!!

I finally got my hands on two of the NYX jumbo pencils that I've been wanting! I was going to order from the NYX/Cherry Culture websites, but milk was sold out. I got these at Ulta on the first Tuesday of the month (so that means 20% off for college students with a college ID!) and it was buy one get one free so I think I paid $2 for each. I don't know how long the sale is going on for, but I saw that the L'oreal HIP line was also buy one get one free. I wanted to get the hot pink and purple jumbo pencils, but they didn't have any. Usually when I go to ULTA for jumbo pencils, I walk away empty handed because all the ones being sold are opened and have been tested by someone else, so I'm glad I finally got some that are new and unopened!

I did something naughty. I bought bath goodies!! This is the first time I've ordered bath stuff online. I've been making use of my Philosophy 3-1 bottles for the longest time cuz quite frankly, I'm trying to get rid of them. I went a little nuts about a year ago and bought WAAAY too many bottles for my own good. You wouldn't think the bottles last for so long even though you hope they do since they cost $16/bottle until it gets to the point where you just want to finish using them up already LOL. But I found this great website Bauble Bath and I couldn't resist. I think some of their products were in the Pretty Pink Boxes... I never got a chance to order one so I'm checking out the retailer for myself.

I ordered the Bauble Surprise which comes with a variety of bath bombs, cocoa melts, body scrubs, and samples.

I also got the Body Scrub Sampler because I didn't know which scrub to choose. It comes with 5 different 3 oz scrubs. Can you tell I'm trying to make up for the Pretty Pink Box?? Everything I got was a sampler!

The only real downer for me was the shipping, but I guess scrubs, bombs, and all that jazz can get pretty heavy. Shipping is $9, but I hope it's worth it.

I took it off right after though because the baby blue was brighter than I expected and it just looked way too 12 year old girly for my taste... Plus I don't know how my boss would feel about my nails while I'm giving interviews haha. I do like the flowers though. Maybe next time I'll just do it on one finger instead of all of them.

Does anyone know of any good BB creams? Or where I can get samples? I'm an NC30 in MAC for reference. I think I want to give BB creams a try cuz I'm sick of putting on foundation everyday. Foundation just feels too heavy on some days and I don't like having a cake face. I want to use something that'll actually help my even out my skin tone in the long run.

OMG, I'm so sick that I think I'm delirious. Don't worry, I don't have the swine flu though (I hope). Or at least that's what the nurse said... She said I could get tested, but she usually only sends people over for testing if their temperature is higher than 102 degrees... Anyway, I went out to lunch today (tee hee) against the nurse's order of staying home and resting for 7 days!! She said she knows it's kinda impossible, but it's recommended. I did call in sick for work though since today is the day I drive interns to teach at an elementary school and I didn't think it'd be wise to be behind the wheel.

Corset piercings. Totally hot, but completely weird. It looks extremely painful. How do people SLEEP with those piercings on their back? Or don't they ever worry about one getting caught and ripped out while they're putting a shirt on? I really like the picture with the piercing up to the neck.. But I think these are only sexy when you have nothing else on..

What Is A Surface Piercing?
Surface piercings are any body piercings that take place on the surface of the body through areas which are not particularly concave or convex, where the piercing canal transverses a surface flap of skin, rather than running completely through a piece of body tissue from one side to another. A surface bar follows the plane of skin, while a standard piercing is pierced through the plane.

Basically this is any piercing that enters and exits the skin on the same side of the body.

Rejection
Surface piercings have the highest rate of rejections out of all other other piercings. Your body sees the jewelry as a foreign object and slowly pushes it out of your skin as it would a splinter. These piercings slowly migrate to the surface of the skin where they eventually get so close to the surface that they rip out leaving a preferment scar. Few surface piercings last more then a few months, although you can maximize your chances of healing several different ways.

To understand why surface piercings fail you must first understand how the body heals itself. Your body views any piercing as a foreign object trying to penetrate its defenses. This happens as soon as the cells surrounding the object get disrupted from their natural life process. Healing a surface piercing is actually just freezing the natural rejection process of your body.

Surface piercings will start to grow out, or reject, from the outer edges slowly in towards the center of the jewelry. Key signs of rejection are redness, swelling, tenderness, and gooey discharge.

Keep in mind that even after years of a surface piercing appearing to be “healed” a simple bump could start the rejection process right where it left off.

Jewelry Types
Surface piercings must be done with the proper jewelry. Never use a straight barbel for this type of piercing as your body will almost instantly reject it. There are specialized types of jewlery specifically for surface piercings.

Surface piercings should only be done with “surface bars”. Surface bars are staple shaped barbels that almost completely eliminate up-pressure on your skin, one of the main causes of rejection. This jewelry can also minimize motion to the piercing which is the second leading cause of rejection.

If the piercing shop you goto does not carry surface bars you do not want them to pierce you. There is absolutely no reason to get a piercing if your body is going to reject it right away eventually leaving a scar.

Long Term Care
Surface piercings are not a “get it and forget it body mod”. Since a healed surface piercing can almost instantly start the rejection process at any time if there is any trauma to the pierced area. This can be caused by something as simple as a bump against a table.

You don’t want to get a surface piercing somewhere that is high motion and will inevitably put undo stress on the piercing. Areas like this include, but are not limited to, the breastplate, wrist, forearms, and legs.

I HATE RAINY DAYS! I've been cooped up inside all day :( Sooooo I decided to make cupcakes! The recipe I made isn't in the cupcake book that I just bought cuz I left that at my boyfriend's house, so I found a cute idea online

Let me just say that the rainbow layers took FOREVER. They look simple enough, right? Well I split the batter into 6 different bowls and added drops of food coloring in them. Then I transferred them into separate ziplock bags, cut open a small corner of the bag, and piped each color into layers. I decided to pipe the batter in because it's less messy than pouring it in and getting it on the sides of the cupcake paper. What took forever was spreading the colors out evenly around the edges and in the middle. I guess it doesn't have to be all that perfect, but I wanted to make sure I had enough batter to go around. My brother and his girlfriend did help though since they were intrigued. My dad helped too. He wanted to mix the food coloring haha.

WHOO I'm on my way to making pretty cupcakes! I've always wanted to learn, but it always seemed so complicated. I found a book that makes it SUPERRRRR easy!! No fondant required. Just some simple tools, ziplock bags, and food coloring, and frosting! I found this book at Target, but I'm sure you can get it online for cheaper like at amazon.com. I can't wait to start making some! I think I'll make some for my step mom for Mother's Day too.

Unplugged is part of the China Glaze Spring Break 2008 ECollection. I have 2 coats painted on. It's a rich chocolate brown with shimmer. I actually like this color more than I thought I would because it's dark, but not too dark. I bought this as part of the buy 2 get 1 free nail polish sale that's going on for the month of April at Sally's. It's still going on, so go get some!!

On another happy note, I finished writing my scholarship essay! WHOOOOT :) It's a scholarship that my work is giving out for college students and current high school seniors. Hopefully I get it! I won't know until 2 weeks from now, but I'm excited that I finally finished the damn thing!

Clinique GWP

I stopped by Clinique about a week ago since I was running out of facial wash and thought that this would be a good time to replenish with the gift with purchase promotion and all... I ended up buying the extra mild liquid facial soap and the comforting cream cleanser. I will do a review on the comforting cream cleanser as soon as I get a good couple uses out of it.

The GWP I received wasn't the one advertised because apparently they ran out, so they gave me something else because they didn't want me to go away empty handed. I received a different GWP which I actually like more because I didn't really care for the youth surge moisturizer that they were promoting. I mainly wanted it for the dramatically different lotion since that's the one I use with the 3 step system. I've actually never bought a bottle of the dramatically different lotion because the only time I buy from Clinique is when they offer GWPs and the packages usually come with a sample sized lotion which lasts a pretty long time.

Just wanted to share this picture of Austin. I thought it was pretty funny. He sleeps in the weirdest positions! He usually likes to sleep with his paw over his eyes. Sometimes I find him curled up underneath my sheets and sometimes when my room is messy, I find him asleep in the middle of a pile of clothes. He likes to claw at my scarves and he talks to me. I meow at him and he always meows back. Haha. He is a weirdo.

China Glaze: Flying Dragon

China Glaze Flying Dragon. Two coats with a top coat. I normally don't use a top coat, but with this polish, once it dries on your nails, it dries very dull. The glitter doesn't sparkle at all. I guess maybe it has to do with the idea that this polish is a neon and mixing it with glitter leaves it with a dull finish. A top coat fixes that problem though so that way you can still have shiny nails. If you don't have a top coat, clear nail polish works too.

I was wandering in Macy's the other day with the boyfriend when this Coach bag caught my eye. I'm not a huge fan of Coach, but the bag looked so gorgeous in person!

I almost bought it on the spot, but
A.) the boyfriend was with me and he would've FREAKED out
B.) I've been doing so good at saving money lately that this would set me back about $458 + tax which would come to a total of about $500.

What do you guys think? Is it worth it?? It looks so much better in person.. Especially under the intentionally well lit display cases... Haha.

Or should I settle for THIS bag? It's $298 and with tax it's $325.. It's cheaper, but not as nice as the other one in my opinion.. And I've never actually seen this one in person.

PROS: Each facial wipe is individually packed making it great for taking one or two wipes on the go without having them dry out. After usage, it didn't leave my face dry or sticky. It seemed to moisturize my face while taking the makeup off.

CONS: I don't know if it completely takes off all makeup like foundation. It does for the most part, but everytime I wiped over an area of my face that I already wiped and thought was clean, more makeup would come off. It also took a few scrubs over my eyes to get my eyeliner off (but then again, it is waterproof). It came off eventually, but it just took some work to get it off.

OVERALL: It's great for those lazy days when you don't feel like washing your face. The wipes do the job, but I wouldn't recommend using them over washing your face everyday. I'd buy these wipes again. Each box comes with a pack of 20 wipes.

I gave in to buying myself some China Glaze nail polish after seeing Alyssa's swatches. I got them at Sally's for $3.25 with the Sally's beauty card. Otherwise they'd cost $5.99 regularly. Kay, well I finally got my Eyeko stuff. Well I got it a while ago actually... I guess my first package got lost in the mail, but they were nice enough to send me another one. I got the two 3-1 creams. I like using them for contouring on the days where I don't feel like using my MAC sculpt and shape and it works just as good. I put it over foundation and it stays relatively put for a good few hours. Sometimes I also put this on my face just to enhance it when I don't feel like putting foundation on. It's pretty cheap (about $7-8 USD) and the tub will definitely last a long time. I'm still using the part of the cream that's stuck to the top of the lid lol.

Hi guys, I'm so sorry I haven't posted...

It's been almost a month since the ex boyfriend and I broke up. I'm getting by. I'm so much better than I was before though, but I do still have occasional sadness attacks that come from out of nowhere. The ex's best friend also broke up with his girlfriend so he could be single so his girlfriend and I have become quite close in the span of about a month. I'm sorry she has to go through the same thing cuz she's an amazing person and cuz it's miserable, but it's really nice to have someone who knows exactly what I'm going through. It's just hard cuz now we're stuck with dealing with Valentine's day.

My best friend is also in the hospital. She was admitted Sunday night out of the blue. I don't know if I should get into it because I want to protect her privacy, but she's doing okay today...

I've also quit school for this semester. I took the semester off. There's just so much going on and I can't focus on school right now. Sometimes all I want to do is stay home and do absolutely nothing. Oddly, I also find comfort in driving down the freeway going nowhere on a sunny day with the sun shining on my face.

I emailed them and asked if they had shipped it out already and if they were delayed possibly because of the holidays. They just reiterated what I said and said it was already shipped out... That was a week ago! I never even got a confirmation email :(

I just want to say thank you to all of you that care about me and gave me such great advice. It has helped me out so much the past few days to know that people care and only want the best for me. I don't know what else I would've done. I'm thankful for the advice and for hearing about your past experiences because it showed me that I too can and will get through this just like you all did.

The boy and I have decided that we're going to be friends and just see how that goes. It's still hard not to keep my mind off of everything, but I know I will be fine. I know he will be fine. I told him to go back to school this semester because it's important. He wants to go back to school but doesn't have the financial means to. I told him I only want the best for him. We talked today and it's just hard cuz we figured out so many things that we both weren't happy about in the relationship (the same things too!) But it's too late now since it's already over. I just wish we had this talk before it ended and maybe we could've done things to make it better if we both knew how the other person felt. Well it's useless to think about it now since it already happened. His sister even told me that I deserve better and I agree. I deserve someone who listens to me, understands me, someone who can put themselves in my shoes for just a moment, someone who asks me about my day, and someone who loves me and doesn't give up. And you know what he said to that? He said he wants that too. BUT only when he decides he wants a relationship. It's not fair. Someone else is going to reap all the benefits. What about me? When I've been good to him and we had a good relationship. Why can't I have that? Why does someone else get to come along later in his life when he's ready and reap all the benefits? Whatever. What's done is done. I just hope we both can lead our own lives, be happy and still be civilized with each other. I always told him I couldn't be friends with him after we broke up, but this time is different. I don't feel like I can completely lose him yet because we were so close and he was such a huge part of my life. If we're meant to be together, we will be in time and if not, then we'll still be friends.

So much for Valentine's Day... and our two year anniversary... and his birthday! Thank God I didn't make hotel reservations and buy basketball tickets and all that stuff yet or else I'd be really pissed. Somehow, I saw this coming. I had a hunch that I should wait to reserve everything. At least wait until mid February. Ugh. Thank God. Well it's his loss.

Anyway, I reaaaaaalllllyyyy can't wait until my best friend comes back from vacation. Maybe I just feel like this cuz school hasn't started for me, but the rest of my friends have already gone back to school, my best friend isn't here, and I've lost my boyfriend. I just have too much free time on my hands. Once my bestie comes back, we're going to join the gym. It may be too late to say that it's a new year and I want a fresh start since New Years was 15 days ago, but whatever. There's still Chinese New Year lol. I've just been trying to keep busy lately. School starts next week. I don't want to go there anymore. I feel like I need a change of pace, but it's too late to transfer since other schools have already started. I've been applying for different jobs. I need something new. Not to mention I need something that pays more. I went shopping yesterday and bought some new clothes. Then I thought to myself, "now what the hell am I going to do with all the lingerie that I just bought a few days ago?" I have no use for it now lol. I don't know how I can laugh about it. ~~The boyfriend~~ I mean the ex boyfriend gave a big "Aww" too (as in I'm sorry you bought them all and then we broke up). I did talk to him yesterday and very briefly this morning. I couldn't stop my fingers from dialing his number. It's still sad to think about not having him around in the future and it's not getting any easier as days go by, but I can feel myself getting stronger and that's all that matters.

The boyfriend and I broke up. I hate telling the whole world about my problems, but the reason why I need to post this is because I have to get out of denial. I have to tell people that it's over. I have to make myself realize that it's really over. The boyfriend was my world. He was everything to me. It's hard to lose someone that was such a big part of my life. I've been so miserable the past couple of days... hoping things would change and get better, but they haven't. I know time heals, but time isn't moving fast enough. Everyday feels so long. It's torture. We broke up because he wants to do his own thing right now. He wants to be able to do the things he wants to do without fights and problems. He just wants to be happy and I understand that. I want him to be happy. I want to be happy too. It's just hard cuz that means he's going to be happy without me. He doesn't need me, but I still need him. I don't know how to function without him because he was everything to me. I have to love myself and teach myself how to do things on my own again. It sucks that people actually have to go to through this and feel like this. Yeah, it's a normal growing experience, but I wish I could save someone else from this pain. It's miserable, it really is. It's hard knowing that he'll never be a part of my life anymore. It's like there's a big empty hole and I don't know how to close it. Everything reminds me of him. He was the person I talked to the most and now he's gone. My best friend is vacationing in Hong Kong and I can't talk to her. I just feel so alone. I have no one to talk to, but in a way, I don't even want to talk about it. All I want to do sometimes is stay home and cry. and when I do that, all I want is to go out and get some fresh air and hang out with my friends. but once I go out, all I want to do is go home. I don't know what's wrong with me. I know in time that I will be fine, I just don't know how to get there. He's a great guy and I only wish the best for him.

Favorite Things of 2008

Grayburn invited me to do a post on my favorite things of 2008. Here are my must haves that I've constantly run back to time and time again.

1. MAC Shroom e/s
My favorite highlighting shadow for the brow bone. Who says all frosty highlighting shades look the same? They really don't. Shroom and Ricepaper are so different from each other. Shroom is lighter in color and suits me very well. It's actually one of the first eyeshadows I bought from MAC

2. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
What I love most about this lip balm is that it doesn't leave a white residue on your lips once it starts to dry out. Another plus is that it tingles and feels minty. It definitely heals and soothes lips. It's great for the winter time when your lips get chapped.

3. MAC 217 Brush
I've tried a few blending brushes but none of them outcompete the 217. Not even the 224. I don't know what makes it so great but this brush should be a staple in everyone's makeup kit.

4. ELF Compact
It's only $1 and it comes already magnetized! Perfect for depots because you don't even have to stick a magnet on them! There's also a mirror on the inside. It's great for traveling if you only want to bring a few colors and not your entire eyeshadow collection. Even if your depots already have magnets on the bottom, they will still stick to the magnetized quad.

5. C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream
First off, it smells heavenly. C.O. Bigelow makes this in a gloss too, but I prefer the cream because it isn't an "in your face" shine and it's more suitable for everyday wear.

6. MAC Sculpt & Shape
I use this everyday and I can't live without it. Even when I don't put foundation on, I just dab a little bit of this to contour and highlight and my face looks much more brighter and awake. It definitely transforms dull faces into brighter, happier looking faces lol

7. ELF Defining Eye Brush
This brush is kind of small, but I find myself using it more than any other eye shadow brush. It's angled so it gets the corners of your eyes perfectly. It's pretty decent at packing on color.

8. Urban Decay Primer Potion
I prefer this over my paint pots and shadesticks. I like how easy it is to apply onto your face. You just dab the wand across your lids and blend. It helps your shadows stay vibrant and creaseless all day long.

9. MAC Ahoy, There l/s
This is one of my HG neutral lipsticks. It's a limited edition that launched with the Naughty Nauticals collection. It's perfect for a neutral look on the lips with just a hint of pink.

10. MAC Naked to the Core l/s
Another one of my HG lipsticks. This launched with the Color Forms collection. It's creamy and goes perfectly with a smoky eye look.

These pictures are from last last year (2007). I went a little ornament happy and spent a shitload of money on ornaments O_O I think it was well worth it though! Haha. Sometimes I do miss the more uniformed looking decorations though with just the red ball shaped ornaments and white lights. We didn't put up a tree this year cuz I was afraid our cat would tear it to pieces. My boyfriend & I also made that gingerbread house last year. Isn't it pretty? :D We never ate it though. It sat looking pretty in the fridge for a while until we finally threw it out.

Ugh I had backlash to the extreme on Sunday. My friend turned 21 and celebrated it at the Fairmont Hotel. I had about 4 hours of sleep before I had to go work a full day's worth of slave labor (which is exactly what it is). What a party foul. But I had lots of fun. Glad I found parking on the street too. Parking at the hotel was $50! I had 5 shots of Smirnoff but it didn't do shit to me. Wasn't even buzzed. Maybe cuz it's cheap vodka. 2 shots of SKYY and I'm gone.

I'm planning to take the boyfriend to LA for a weekend in March for his birthday so we can watch the Lakers vs Mavericks game. The problemmmm is... should we fly and rent a car when we get there? Or should we just drive a grueling 6-7 hours? The flight would only be 1.5 hours long...

I hate long car rides, but it is way cheaper. If we flew and rented a car, it would cost about $400 more than if we were to drive ourselves... I mean, it's do-able, but that money could also be spent on something else so I don't know.

Also, does anyone know of any points of interest around LAX? I already know that I want to go kayaking at Redondo beach and go on a gondola ride at Marina del Rey (YAY!) We've already been to Venice Beach, the Santa Monica Pier, & Universal Studios Hollywood... I was thinking maybe Disneyland? But would only one day at Disneyland be satisfying? I know we won't be able to see everything...

I haven't told him yet and I don't think the boyfriend reads my blog so I'm safe! haha.

P.S. I forgot to mention that if we flew and rented a car, the basketball game starts at 7pm on Sunday night, so it probably won't end until 10 at the latest. Then we have to bring the car back to the dealership and then catch our plane at 11pmish which is definitely NOT enough time... We'd have to end up staying another night...

Anywho, this was a sudden splurge, but I couldn't resist cuz of all the raves it has been getting. (Plus the cute packaging it has!) I want to use these for contouring. As much as I love my MAC sculpt and shape, I want to see if cream works better for contouring. and I want to see if I can use the tinted one as a bronzer cuz I've had a really hard time finding a good bronzer that doesn't make me look orange and fake.

It wasn't much of a splurge though considering each cream was only about $7! Great deal right? And there's free shipping! AND if you enter in E165 you get a free gift! It's the cheapest to get it from Eyeko.com. Cherry Culture sells it but it's $12 there and you have to pay for shipping.

I might have to wait for this shoe splurge since I just bought the brown boots from Bakers (also from my previous Polyvore post) except I didn't get the 25% off with those since I got them at the store... It was 25% off if you bought two or more things and I couldn't find anything else that I wanted...

I love these boots from Bakers! I want to order them online since they're having a 25% off deal, but I need to try them on in the store first to see if they fit. I have a fitting problem with knee high boots and sometimes mid-calf boots cuz I'm short and I have thick calves.

I also really like these sandals! But they're $188!! I originally wanted them in brown, but they're all sold out in that color so maybe I'll settle for black. Do you think it's worth $188?

Oatmeal & Honey Mask

This is a mask that I use often. It's an oatmeal and honey mask and it's really easy to make at home. Here are the ingredients:

1/3 cup cooked oatmeal
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup water

First you cook the oatmeal. I usually add some water to my uncooked oatmeal and stick it in the microwave for it to cook. Then add honey and water. Mix until they're thoroughly mixed together. Then let it cool down if the oatmeal is still hot before you put it on your face, it will hurt. Put the mask on your face for 15 minutes and then wash off.

An oatmeal and honey mask is supposed to hydrate your face. Both oatmeal and honey act as natural moisturizers. Even with my dry skin, this does not dry out my face once I wash it off. Make sure you wash it off completely cuz the honey will stick to your face and hair.

My Paris Hilton heels came!!!!!!! I got free overnight shipping from Endless.com. Awesome right? They're a little loose on me since I ordered a half size bigger cuz that was all they had, but I'm hoping my feet will expand after wearing them so it won't be too bad. It's not even that bad right now actually. I just like my heels and flats to be really tight so they don't slip off.

I'm so excited for the rest of my presents to arrive! I love being spoiled lol.

The boyfriend wants this $300 pack of Jordans for Christmas and we're going to the mall to pay for the pre-order. (Or I mean, I'm going to pay for them lol).

He's been asking me what I want for Christmas and I finally found some things that I want! I was gonna settle with either a Coach or Juicy Couture purse, but honestly I don't know if I can see myself wearing those brands. It takes me back to say... middle school and little teenage girls. Coach does have some new decent bags though that don't have the signature "C" all over them that are kinda cute. I'm not much of a logo fan unless it's LV cuz their monogram is hawwwt. All the bags I want are $1000+ and I'd feel so damn guilty if the boyfriend ever spent that much money on me.

I think I failed my chem final today :( My chem professor told me that she thought I should have an A in the class. MEANING i SHOULD have an A if only i worked a little harder. oh well, next semester...

next semester i'm taking the 2nd half of chem & physics. on tuesdays, i'm going to be at school from 9:30 am to 8:40 pm cuz of the labs!! and thursdays from 9:30 to 5. fuck my life!!! Hahah. what needs to be done has to be done.

Here is a great contouring guide:

Step 1: Start with the dark shade using an angled brush

Step 2: Make a fish face and fill in the hollows of your cheeks

Step 3: Contour the temples of your head

Step 4: Contour your lower jaw bone

Step 5: Using a smaller brush, contour the sides of your nose to give it more definition

Step 6: Using your brush, pick up the highlighting shade

Step 7: Highlight your cheekbones

Step 8: Highlight your nose bone

Step 9: Highlight your chin

TADA! Now you have a nicely sculpted face :)

I used to have a Sony touch screen camera, but it really belongs to my dad and my stepmom has been using it lately... I've been using a Canon one, but I don't really like it because it doesn't have enough flash settings... and maybe because I don't really know how to use it haha. Any camera suggestions?
